The specially made mould for the customer corresponds to an original tyre for trucks on a scale of 1:8. Ever since the FIT pressing plant from Neu-Isenburg was taken over by Conradi+Kaiser in 1996, model tyres have been produced in the company&#8217;s own vulcanisation plant in Kleinmaischeid. During vulcanisation, new rubber sheets are liquefied at high temperature and placed in a mould. Bonds are formed between rubber molecules. Cross-linking of sulphur bridges within the material gives the resulting rubber its well-known elastic properties. While car tyres are significantly more complex and additionally enter into connections with steel and textile elements, model tyres from Conradi+Kaiser are made exclusively from new rubber.
